Navigating Complexity through LEGO® Serious Play®
In conjunction with Resonate Leadership, a LEGO® Serious Play® session took place recently for members in the RDS dealing with the subject of “Navigating Complexity”.
In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, traditional approaches to leadership often fall short when facing complex, adaptive challenges. How might you unlock new perspectives and solutions that conventional methods may miss? In an immersive workshop Adaptive Leadership principles were blended with the innovative LEGO® Serious Play® methodology. Members could experience first-hand how this unique combination creates breakthrough insights when navigating complexity.
Through guided builds and peer-coaching, members were able to
- Visualise and build a complex challenge
- Explore key stakeholders and their possible losses and gains as the member or organisation works to achieve its purpose
- Leave with fresh thinking and actionable strategies to make progress on this challenge.
LEGO® Serious Play®, a method for strategic planning and problem-solving, was developed in the mid-1990s by professors Johan Roos and Bart Victor at the Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland, in collaboration with the LEGO Group.
The session was facilitated by experienced Leadership Coach Eadine Hickey of Resonate Leadership, an MBA alumna of UCD, and Leadership Development & Organisational Change Consultant Katie da Gama.
